Organization of a short stories international competition that aims to generate literary vocations and promote women’s writings. It addresses never published, either in print or electronically, women from around the Mediterranean. To have women write, is to allow them to put into words their everyday life, their daily actions, and the colors they give to the world.Women of peace, living beings. The aim is to make possible a culture for peace and life. It is also to enable or give women a place in public culture and life. In addressing never published women living in countries around the Mediterranean, this short stories competition creates an opening to a free speech area, usually difficult to find in the social space. Its purpose is to foster women’s memory inside a network of meanings present all around the Mediterranean, and to put forth one way of looking at and tell history. This story does not differ from the one already written. It relates to sensitivity. It is a story of murmurs and small facts. Events light up differently. The area, the city, the country and countries with each other begin to mean differently, and to mean something else. Women‘s perspective does not fight memory and existing history. It tells something else which remains invisible. It weaves similarity and likeness. Thus, difference is not partition but mutual enrichment. It brings people together and has them live together. Papers must refer to the subject and have their own title. Papers may be written in any of the Mediterranean languages.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
