This campaign has the main aim to raise awareness among the public opinion and especially among the youth on the existent and huge reality of human trafficking in Tunisia. It is a violation of human dignity and human rights. The awareness campaign is made of 5 short-movies and 1 advertising realised by a group of 30 young ambassadors of the city of Sousse, with the support of a team of audio-visual experts.
The young ambassadors, aged 16 up to 35 years old, are students and professionals who are activists for civil society organizations and fight against human trafficking in Tunisia. Every short-movie of the campaign approaches in an easy way and without taboos a specific case of human trafficking detected in Tunisia. The cases highlighted concern: exploitation of a young with handicaps; forced prostitution of a young Tunisian girl living outside of the country; domestic exploitation of a young girl coming from a rural area working for a rich family in the urban context; working exploitation of a Tunisian young graduate living outside of Tunisia; domestic exploitation and forced domestic work of a sub-Saharan woman in Tunisia.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
