30.03.2016 / Created by (EMWF)

This practice consisted of organising conferences, theatre performances and painting workshops with the aim of developing women’s critical spirit and sense of argumentation and of strengthening their participation in the democratic process. The conferences have mainly dealt with: “Equality and the electoral code”, “The issue of parity and the electoral system”, “Democratic transition and the independence of justice”, “Islam and democracy”, “Diversity, power and democracy”, “Transitional justice: the role of women”.Each activity mobilises at least 80 people thanks to the collaboration with local institutions and the arts centre Djebe Chambi/Kasserine in Kasserine.

This practice was identified in the framework of the research seminar on gender “Violence Against Women, Gender-Based Violence”, organised by RUSEMEG in Tunis on 8 and 9 October 2015, in the framework of Axis 1 “Strengthening the capacities of actors working for gender equality”, with the support of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, and the project “Developing women’s empowerment” labelled by The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM)
