In 2011, it was nearly impossible to mobilize women in rural areas, especially with  the absence of a meeting place for women, where they could leave home without a good reason from the point of view of the tradition (work, or accompany children), the association "voix de la Femme", organized a breakfast for children who came with their mothers, and this was an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of the role of these women as citizens and of their active and free participation in elections (to vote). This action allowed the association to establish direct contact with women create a link with them on the local level. Subsequently, that led to women voluntarily contact the association. In 2013, the association managed to raise the awareness of more than 500 citizens on women´s participation in political life.

This practice was idnetified within the framework of the pilot action of mobilizaiton of equality actors on local level in Monastir-Sousse (Tunisia) in 2015. This action is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacity of equality actors”, of the project “Women for the future in the Mediterranean” funded by  the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, and the project “Developing Women Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
