Mediamed, which gathers multimedia resources in human sciences on the Mediterranean, has updated its content with a collection of videos from the symposium " Altérites et résistances à l’épreuve du genre en Méditerranée ". This multidisciplinary symposium took place in Aix-en-Provence on November 7, 8 and 9, 2019. The participants analysed, through gender relations, the dynamics, adjustments and changes caused by alternative behaviours to social norms, family conventions, sexual practices, etc. that emerge in times of political upheaval and migration - such as those experienced in the Mediterranean basin.
The focus was placed on examples taken from historical and current events presenting the logics of confrontation, repression, adaptation, violence, accommodation and even innovation expressed in emancipatory or, on the contrary, conservative resistance practices, and on the North-South dialogues possible in these contexts.
Symposium co-organized by :
- Constance De Gourcy, Laboratoire Méditerranéen de Sociologie - LAMES,
- and Karine Lambert, GeFeM-GECRIS, Laboratoire Temps, Espaces, Langages, Europe.
