Abaad Organization has recently launched an important documentary tackling the change of gender roles during crises and wars by highlighting the unique stories of powerful Syrian female refugees who challenged the predetermined roles that customs and traditions impose on them. By doing this, they were able to make positive changes in their current communities, in Lebanon.
The documentary which lasts 30 minutes is funded by the European Union within the framework of project "Bel Salameh" which addresses the multiple psychological dimensions of the Syrian crisis and enables individuals and communities to improve their capacity to transform their negative experiences.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
