Barcelona Metròpolis Mediterrània is a magazine providing information about urbanistic issues in the framework of Barcelona city. The publication was founded in 1986, directed by the journalist Joan-Anton Benach Olivella. Benach defines the magazine as a library of urban culture because it contemplates Barcelona’s transformation from different approaches: urbanism, architecture, sociology, communication and new technologies.
However, in recent years, the publishers have made an effort to stress the point on gender issues. So it has become a magazine of urbanism and gender about the city. The online version, available in English, Spanish and Catalan, contains a large number of articles, reports, thematic dossiers, interviews and documents. The last edition, Nº104, it is exclusively focused on urban planning and gender. The review is fund nowadays by the municipality of Barcelona.
