The "Revue des mondes musulmans et de la Méditerranée" (Muslim Worlds and the Mediterranean Region Review) is a social sciences publication which presents, in thematic deliveries, studies on the whole Muslim world. This review, founded in 1966, published -in its beginnings- articles in anthropology and history on medieval Maghreb and Andalusia.
In 1988, its scientific committee decided to no longer be limited to the Maghreb but also to open up to the Middle East. The Muslim world being perceived as diverse, with a common denominator, Islam, thus in 1997 the title of the review changed to "Muslim worlds and the Mediterranean Region Review".
The REMMM publishes two annual thematic issues of about 320 pages in two series: "History" and "Contemporary Worlds". Thus, while being a forum of social sciences and humanities (history, political science, anthropology, sociology, geography ...), the REMMM assumes in a balanced way its double vocation of historical review and observatory of the present time.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
