Adalah is an independent legal center for human rights, registered in Israel as a non-profit organization. Founded in 1996, Adalah promotes the rights of Palestinian Arab citizens of Israel and the rights of Palestinians living in the occupied territories.
In order to achieve these goals, Adalah seeks to advance rights to land, planning and housing, civil rights, political rights, cultural rights, religious rights, women’s rights and the rights of prisoners. Adalah also seeks to defend the rights of Palestinians living under occupation since 1967 by pleading in Israeli courts and international forums.
To achieve these goals, Adalah:
- Seeks to change laws affecting Palestinian rights;
- Provides judicial advice;
- Organizes seminars, conferences and workshops, and publishes reports on judicial matters.
