The Association of Women of Southern Europe (AWSE) is a non-profit organization that brings together natural and legal persons from southern European Union countries.
The AWSE’s main objectives are:
- To establish among its members a network of information, reflection, action and solidarity, in particular with a view to promoting European integration in the effective realization of equal rights and opportunities between women and men - in all areas, including access to decision-making processes;
- To contribute to the implementation of a coordinated strategy, in particular to defend the diversity of cultures and multilingualism;
- To rely on the cultural identity of these different countries to jointly develop action, study or research projects, both within the European Union and in partnership with other associations, especially within the framework of Euro-Mediterranean policy.
