The International Alliance of Women (IAW) is an NGO comprising 41 member organizations involved in the promotion of women’s and girls’ rights around the world.
The objectives of the AIF are:
- To ensure as much reform as possible in order to establish genuine equality between men and women in terms of their individual liberty, legal status, or their opportunities, and to work for a balanced partnership between men and women in all fields;
- To urge women to accept their responsibilities and to use all their rights and influence in both public and private spheres in order to ensure that the status of each individual is based on respect and non-discrimination on sex, race, religion, political beliefs, etc;
- To promote a better quality of life and good understanding between countries and people.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
