The Gender and Economy Programme endeavours to improve understanding of the economic aspects of gender relations. Its actions embrace research, the promotion of dialogue and holding of seminars in order to strengthen the policies aimed at reducing inequalities between men and women and improving the economic potential of women in South-eastern and Eastern Europe, Southern Caucasus and Central Asia. One of the key points of its action is the development of women' s entrepreneurship in the region. Thus the programme promotes gender mainstreaming in economic policies and the creation of an environment favourable to women' s entrepreneurship.
