Femme Action - Action Woman was created in 1991 with a consultative status with ECOSOC. The association works for the integration of girls and women in the process of economic, social, cultural, political and also empowerment. Femme Action - Action Woman promotes, within the framework of a gender, participatory, citizenship and solidarity approach, girls and women to take the vision of their own future through initiatives rooted in their daily living. Their main objective is to contribute to sustainable human development, focusing on the basic needs of marginalized female population to improve their living conditions and thus to encourage them to become real actors of local development and foster partnership between men and women in the public life.
Target populations of the association are girls and women, particularly focusing on girls and women in remote rural areas, economically disadvantaged, and poor and marginalized female population in peri-urban neighborhoods. Their priority intervention areas are: basic education, development education as well as civic and citizenship education. Their lines of intervention are taken in the context of sustainable integrated projects, and are supported by capacity building activities at national level.
