Be active. Be emancipated (B.a.B.e.) was founded in 1994 with the purpose of promoting and protecting women's human rights at national level. Today they put special emphasis on prevention of all forms of violence against women and support survivors.
The objectives of B.a.B.e. are: gender equality and equal opportunities for all genders; reduced incidence of all forms of gender-based violence; development of gender sensitive media and change of public discourse by gender; development of the educational system that promotes gender equality; human rights and the development of a democratic culture; establishment of appropriate and applicable legislative procedures of public policies and implementation measures.
The activities of B.a.B.e. are: promotion of non-violence and peace building, prevention of violence, volunteering, promotion of social solidarity, monitoring of public policy and advocacy, free legal aid, the right of access to information, the control and protection against discrimination, education, scientific work and research, social assistance and support, humanitarian aid, etc.
B.a.B.e. has more than 10 years of specific working experience in gender equality.
