The association “Femmes pour le Dire, Femmes pour Agir” (FDFA) was founded in 2003, the European Year of People with Disabilities. The association aims to promote the role of women with disabilities in the society and, regardless the nature of the disability, and promote their participation to forums, publications, discussion groups, workshops, etc. They fight against all forms of discrimination and, in particular, against the double discrimination experienced by women with disabilities: the gender aspect and the disability. They state that disability is not a type of identity; but it is due to the hazards of life.
FDFA aims to develop autonomy of women with disabilities to access to employment, the defense of their citizenship and the fight against violence, where 80% of them are victims.
The association welcomes women and men with disabilities or disabled, to develop a living way together at the national level.
Their motto is: "Women with disabilities, citizens first!"
FDFA has over 10 years of specific experience working in gender equality.
