The Forum for professionals fighting against Family Honor Crimes in the Arab society within the Israeli state was founded in 2011, by a group of clinical psychologists and social workers specialized in treatment of battered women. Its main purpose is to explain and to interpret the “Family honor” phenomena from a professional point of view.
The Forum is seeking to:
1. Provide a space to professionals for sharing their experiences, dilemmas, fears and difficulties which resulted from the intensive treatment of battered women.
2. Establish a process of mutual support and solidarity among professional, due to their feelings of helplessness and frustration, mainly, because of the fact that they are not able stop or do some action to prevent murder of women.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
