The new name of Development Program for Women and Children (DPWC) is a Non-Governmental Organization working since 1999. Its main mission is to work in development issues for women and children in all levels (socially, politically, culturally or healthy) through many social and human rights programs, certainly through women and children rights initiatives.
ELMEHWAR works with several funding organizations. The work tools through those organizations are: training guides to build capabilities to marginal categories, such us to university female students, social specialists and teachers in governmental schools, pupils between 10 to 16 years old, the press and the information staff, political parties and the staff of civil society organizations.
Since 2015, the association has launched a program in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut to introduce the basic concepts of gender and integrate them into society.
The program is aimed at the female students aged between 18 and 23 of the different universities of Upper Egypt, since this region requires a lot of awareness on gender issues. The program also includes the establishment of the Gender Club.
