Mission and objectives

The MARCH Lebanon Association is an NGO that was founded in 2011 to create an open-minded tolerant society with diversity and equality among all its constituents. It mainly focuses on promoting freedom of expression (and fighting censorship) and fighting for equality in rights, which includes defending women' s rights. Additionally, MARCH focuses on conflict resolution activities using art and culture as tools for peace-building.

Its primary goal is to educate, motivate and empower citizens to fight for their civil right; it seeks to raise an open more tolerant Lebanese society where each community respects the other. Their activities included organizing panel discussions between civil society organizations, state actors and the youth; producing interactive plays to raise awareness on the state of censorship; launching blogs and printed publications on censorship, women's issues, and inter-religious dialogue; generate public pressure on government institutions to hold them accountable and push them into changing some practices and advocating for changes in laws related to censorship and women's rights.
