Since its establishment, in 2009, the Cairo Center for Development (CCD) has successfully implemented valuable activities within its programme focused on combating violence against women. Such activities have managed to mobilize different societal actors, including lawyers and media professional.
In 2021, the United Nations granted the CDC special consultative status within ECOSOC.
The CCD has implemented more than a dozen of projects under its programme on violence against women. Furthermore, it has cooperated with many important international organization including Open Society, Novib/ Oxfam and Women Mediterranean Fund.
The Centre has also established various mechanism in order to enable Egyptian women to report and fight sexual harassment.
