The Arab Parliamentary Coalition (to combat violence against women) was established in response to the increasing level of violence against women in the Middle East and North Africa in the recent years. The Coalition aims to develop a national law on domestic violence and to launch an Arab Day to combat violence against women. The Coalition works to combat all kinds of violence: domestic violence, trafficking of women, rape, sexual harassment and honour crimes.
The Arab Parliamentary Coalition works in Arab countries, mainly on themes of civil rights and political life and violence. The Coalition has 2-5 years of specific experience in the field of gender equality and women's rights and its target groups are victims of violence, immigrant and refugee women and women artisans.
