“Voix de la Femme Jemmel” which is an association that works to promote women' s rights, was created in 2011 at Jemmel, in the center-east of Tunisia, in the governorate of Monastir.
The mission of the Association is to defend the rights of women and help them to take their place in public life as well as to promote children' s rights through civic education. In that sense, “Voix de la Femme Jemmel” works on raising awareness on women for voter registration as well as helping them to participate in Constituent Assembly elections, supported by a partnership, particularly for the regional authority elections of Monastir. In addition, the Association works in textile garment factories since the village has more than 120 factories employing women workers and most are run by women.
