The "Apid Imprenditorialità Donna" (APID) is an employers' association started up in 1989 joining the Association of Small and Medium Industries of Turin and its Province.
Statutory aims of the association are:
- to promote supporting actions for female entrepreneurship development;
- to support development and professional training;
- to help the creation of new enterprises, being a reference from the start up phase
- to promote initiatives of local employment
Since its constitution, APID has been working with the aim to spread a new entrepreneurial culture elaborating a strategy for supporting and promoting female entrepreneurship. The association counts nowadays about three hundred partners, representatives of small and medium enterprises of Turin and its province in all productive fields. Apid has a lot of experience in gender culture and equal opportunities and its activities are always addressed to that.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
