CLEF is the French Coordination for the European Women's Lobby, which it co-founded. It is the head of a feminist network that leads and coordinates nearly 100 French associations working for gender equality and women's rights. It develop its work mainly through advocacy with governments and parliaments in France, Europe and internationally, as it is an NGO with special status with the UN and its agencies.
CLEF also organises numerous events and regular meetings for the general public to fight against sexist stereotypes and promote women's rights and gender equality (Les Mardis de la CLEF, trainings, conferences, INTERNATIONAL FORUM ON WOMEN'S RIGHTS).
CLEF acts to defend women's rights and gender equality worldwide, working on various issues such as the promotion of equality and parity between women and men, the fight against all forms of violence against women, the fight for access to health and sexual and reproductive rights and education.
CLEF acts at national level, at European level through the EWL, and at international level to achieve its goals.
