The "Forum de Femmes Méditerranée" (FFM) in Marseille is a French association created in 1993 after the First International Meeting of Mediterranean Women in November 1992, in Valencia, Spain. The Forum includes women as individuals or representatives of associations from different social backgrounds, sometimes exiled women from Mediterranean countries but all of them are currently living in Marseille and in the Provence Alpes Cotes d'Azur.
The Forum:
- is a research organisation (co-writing a report on the situation of women in the Mediterranean with FEMISE, an organisation of seminars and lectures);
- is an association which supports income generating activities through projects in Algeria and Morocco around the solidarity tourism. It organizes training sessions to help women to gather the best development conditions of their business.
- implements cultural initiatives (an annual international competition of short stories, publishing books, organizing the first Mediterranean's fair on women's publications for which they have gathered over 50 sponsors: philosophers, sociologists and writers.
The Forum is the chef the file of the French national network of the Anna Lindh Foundation until December 2016.
