Luisa is a 2nd year PhD student and member of the Interdisciplinary Research Group on Immigration. Her resarch investigate the impacts of EU external migration policies on countries of origin and transit of migration in the Southern Mediterranean Neighbourhood. Her main resarch goal is to understand the mechanisms through which EU external migration policies impact the democratization of countries of origin and transit of migration. She is particulatly interested in understading this process from gender perspective and by focusing on the young population. Her main geigraphical scope is the Maghreb.

GRITIM-UPF is an Interdisciplinary Research Group on Immigration at the department of political and social sciences at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Catalonia). It is made up of researchers from different disciplines, who are interested in aspects of innovation and management of change processes arising from human mobility and immigration. The group's main objectives are to promote theoretical and applied research related to political and social agendas and, in particular, to contribute to the definition of a European approach.
