Independent non-profit organization working to empower women and youth, promote their rights and achieve gender equality through capacity building, research and advocacy programs. The Forum is committed to respecting human rights principles such as transparency, commitment to the rule of law, equality and empowerment of marginalized groups.
The forum works to build the capacity of women and youth, especially in marginalized areas, and to train leaders who can contribute to the advancement of society in all areas.
Sensitize and advocate the inclusion of women’s rights in the Libyan constitution. The Forum is a founding member of the Libyan Alliance for the Constitution, the most important channel linking the constituent body who’s in charge of drafting of the Constitution, and citizens, especially women. The Forum has opened several centres to support women victims of violence and displaced women, train them, develop their skills and facilitate their reintegration. The Forum has been involved in a number of advocacy campaigns to ensure that women get enough seats in elected entities, as well as several campaigns against violence against women. The Forum also implemented a project to promote the role of women in peace, mediation, conflict resolution, security and social leadership.
