CEDAW is a non-governmental organization that supports marginalized women's rights in remote and far-off cities and governorates. The aim of the Association is to: 1. Provide kegal support to women who can’t afford this type of services, without profit; 2. Conduct legal studies and research; 3. Teach and disseminate human rights culture in general and women's rights in particular; 4. monitor and document violations of human rights; Send fact finding delegations where violations are committed.
The Foundation undertakes a number of different activities in order to achieve its objectives. For example, 1) elaboration of various studies identifying the status of women in the society, the problems they face and how they deal with them. 2) Provide legal support to women, especially in with regard to the personal status code and (3) Networking with various women's associations in different governorates to exchange experiences, 4) implementation of awareness seminars for women to teach them the legal rights that laws and the constitution guarantee to them; 5) Accompanying and supporting women to have access to parliamentary and public positions and councils.
