Ibtikar’s strategy, is aligned with the U.N. transformative 2030 Agenda for Sustainable
Development: Leave No-One Behind, articulated through the organization’s vision: “We work to
empower the next generation to address society’s needs”, and its mission: “We offer innovative
youth and adult programs, corporate training and consulting services to foster social innovation,
entrepreneurship and civic engagement in the community. Besides, Ibtikar connects, inspires,
trains, and mentors young change agents and innovators to become global problem solvers
guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Furthermore, the strategy envisions
Ibtikar taking new programmatic roles as a catalyst, enabler, and facilitating change aspiring to
maximize impact and create social values.
Ibtikar believes that innovations advance gender equality. Ibtikar describes three areas of
innovation that, when they intersect, have the potential to progress women’s empowerment: (1)
technology use, (2) social norm change, and (3) economic resilience. Ibtikar believes that when
girls and women thrive in all these three areas, there is a demonstrable shift in gender relations.
Ibtikar is always testing elements of this approach and building its understanding of the
the intersection between innovation and gender equity.
