Algeria
Created in 2011 and certified by UNESCO in 2013, SIDRA's mission is to promote the active citizenship of young women and men through projects in various fields: education, solidarity (e.g. Algerian Food Bank, a bank food for the poor), capacity building (e.g. SHAREK which aims to strengthen the intervention of youth organizations in the development and monitoring of public policies to contribute to a more effective participation of young women and men in public life).
The association works with several national and international donors and partners such as ministerial departments, local authorities, Embassies and Cooperation Agencies, UN Agency, as well as companies.
- Algerian Women Entrepreneurship Program AWEP: aiming at the economic empowerment of women through the promotion of entrepreneurship by training women and organizing networking meetings to strengthen their role in the development of an economy social solidarity in Algeria.
- Algerian Women in motion: a movement launched in partnership with UN Women, to celebrate Algerian women with an optimistic and positive approach by inviting them to skeap about their backgrounds, their experiences, their successes and the challenges they have experienced then turned into opportunities. The goal is to inspire young women and the next generation to believe in their dreams and to fight for their ambitions.
