Morocco
AMANE is an association under Moroccan law initiated by development actors and HRD activists who are aware of the extent of the phenomenon of sexual violence against children.
The association's mission is to fight against violence, particularly sexual violence, of which children are victims, through awareness-raising, advocacy and capacity building initiatives led by actors working in the field.
Based in Morocco, AMANE also supports child protection actors in Africa and the Middle East. It provides them with support for the implementation of programmes aimed at the prevention and protection of children at risk and/or children that have been victims of sexual violence.
AMANE has carried out actions and projects in the following areas: capacity building of child protection actors to improve prevention and care for vulnerable children and/or survivors of violence; awareness raising and sensitisation of the general public; advocacy to improve mechanisms for the protection of children against all forms of violence.
For some time now AMANE has also been working towards integrating the gender (particularly the gender-based violence) perspective in its work: in its training and awareness raising sessions; in the toolkits that it has developed – i.e., pedagogical kits, care and support guides and concepts; and in its learning platform modules.
