Mission and objectives

1. Raising the educational capacities of mothers and homemakers.
2. Contributing to solving the psychological, social, health and legal problems that mothers suffer from.
3. Reinforcing awareness among mothers and homemakers of women’s rights and human rights issues.
4. Empowering women and homemakers in the domains of politics and rights and in public life.
5. Economic empowerment of women and homemakers to reduce poverty.
6. Reinforcing children’s abilities and broadening their knowledge.

Main activities related to gender equality and women's rights

The Mother School Society was set up in 1999 in response to the needs of women and homemakers in the areas of Nablus that were experiencing greatest need due to the negative repercussions of occupation policies and were most affected by the economic and social deterioration of Palestinian society. Because of the high importance of education for the Palestinian people, the main focus of women’s and homemakers’ concerns was the education of their children.
