The "Femmes Informations Juridiques Internationales Rhône-Alpes" (FIJI-RA) is a regional association that emerged from an institutional and association partnership in January 2002. It combats all types of discrimination against women and works for gender equality in the field of private international family law.
With over 13 years of experience, FIJI-RA offers legal advice to French and foreign women who have difficulties in relation to their personal status (forced marriage, repudiation, polygamy...). The association offers several services: free hotlines open to all, monitoring of the individual case, awareness-raising sessions among women living in most deprived neighbourhoods, the training of professionals from the social and legal sectors, drafting quarterly newsletters, and advocacy action among legislative and government organisations.
