The Appropriate Communication Techniques for Development Center (ACT) was Established enEgypt in 1990 as a nongovernmental Organization working in the field of development.
The idea of the Center was to meet the institutional and social needs of NGOs and Civil Society Organizations to promote their role as actors in society and to enhance the culture of citizenship. The message of the center is to raise communication skills in development work and assist community groups to organize themselves, build networks with the different groups that work in the field of development in Egypt and the Arab World, and also to build a database for different knowledge resources and to build the capacities of women and marginalized groups for an active participation for all groups of society in political and social life. The center aims to achieve a society that is free of violence which provides well-being and respect of the human rights of women and men and believes in equality and democracy as a way of sustainable development.
