The Asfari Institute for Civil Society and Citizenship and The Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs at the American University of Beirut are cooperating on a new regional storytelling project aimed at promoting positive role models for women and girls in order to support young women’s career choices in the Arab region.
The organisers are looking for potential female candidates, or role models, from the MENA region to collect their life stories. In particular, they are seeking profiles of women who can inspire others and women who are working beyond assigned gender roles and stereotypes. For instance, it could be a woman flourishing in the STEM field, a taxi driver, an entrepreneur, an artist, etc.
If you are interested in telling your story, please send a short biography to asfariinst@aub.edu.lb. Your biography may include a brief narrative about your career journey, accomplishments, and challenges. Please limit it to two pages. If you have particular women in mind, please feel free to suggest names or inform them of this opportunity.
The deadline for submission is Monday, September 13, 2021.
Selected participants will be informed of the results within a week.
For any other information or inquiries, please contact asfariinst@aub.edu.lb. Looking forward to your participation.
