The Palestinian Working Woman Society for Development has just launched a survey to understand the changes in the burdens and responsibilities of unpaid care work that fall on Palestinian women, following the social and economic impact of the pandemic.
With the collaboration of UNDP and UN Women, the survey seeks to tailor solutions that can contribute to alleviating part of the burden of unpaid care work for Palestinian women.
Unpaid care work relates to the provision of direct or indirect care without pay within the household. It includes, but is not limited to, caring for children, the elderly and the sick; washing, cooking, shopping, cleaning, and assisting other families in the fulfillment of their duties. These activities are considered as work, because in theory one could pay a third person to perform these chores for them.
