The Gender Equality Academy Distributed Open Collaborative Course (DOCC) aims at condensing in an online format the best available knowledge and expertise on Gender Equality in Research and Innovation, from the GE Academy partners and an extended network of contributing nodes and projects from across Europe. The DOCC seeks to provide learners with a wealth of resources and tools to become change agents and promote institutional transformation, either at their own Research Organizations or to support the process at other entities. The course includes lessons made of video/audio lectures and multimedia, content-rich articles and for each lesson, a list of other suggested resources and a specific assignment to be completed.
The course is built around 7 modules which represent only one of the possible learning paths: if you are approaching gender equality issues in the specific domain of scientific research/higher education policies for the first time, you are encouraged to start by taking module 1 first. Otherwise, learners are free to craft their own learning journey across modules and navigate through the content in personalized forms and at their own pace
Each module is composed of different lessons (video/audio lectures or multimedia content rich articles) prepared by GE Academy experts and complemented by assignments. As the ultimate goal of this course is not to merely transfer knowledge but rather to make it actionable, assignments are designed with this purpose in mind: to help you contextualize notions in your reality and stimulate you to become a change agent active in promoting gender equality and institutional change.
Within the course there is a discussion forum open to participants. Live chat sessions with experts and some live webinars are also planned. The dates and times of the live sessions will be communicated on the DOCC blog.
Enrolling on the course will give you the opportunity to earn a GE Academy Certificate of Attendance to demonstrate your interest in the subject and commitment to your career, and to provide evidence of continuing professional development. The certificate will be released upon completion of 70% of the modules including the related assignments.
You can take the course freely and enrol at any time, the course is available online in on demand mode until 31st July.
