On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (25th of November), we launch a photography contest with the goal of highlighting powerful and inspiring women who fight every day to smash gender stereotypes and promote equality values in their communities.
All photographers (amateur and professional), aged 18 years or over.
Send a photograph together with a title and the story/context behind it.
You can submit the story in English, French or Arabic!
"Powerful women: breaking stereotypes in the Euro-Mediterranean region"
Photograph situations and moments where women dare to break rules and gender stereotypes imposed by society.
Photographs must be taken in a country from the Euro-Mediterranean region!
The evaluation committee will select 10 photographs and stories among all the eligible entries
The 3 final winners will be chosen through a public vote on Facebook.
The 10 photographs/stories selected by the evaluation committee will be published in hard and digital copies and shown in an exhibition.
The 3 final awardees will win a trip to participate in the 8th International Congress of Feminist Research in the Francophonie (Paris, 27th-31st August 2018) and present their photographs and stories.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
