The programme entitled “A Wave of Women’s Voices – 1000 and Counting” is one of the projects that the Fund for Gender Equality (FGE) is supporting and it is undertaken in Egypt. It commenced on 1st of April 2015 and is scheduled for completion on 30th of Sept. 2017 with a total budget of $545,000. USD. The program aims at forming a wave of young female activists lobbying for gender sensitive legal provisions and promoting for better representation of women in the decision-making process
The unit of analysis or object of study for this required evaluation is the set of components, outcomes, outputs, activities and inputs that were detailed in the programme document and in associated modifications made during implementation. The timeframe of the evaluation will cover the period extending from the conceptualization and design to the moment when the evaluation is taking place.
The evaluation will assess:
- To what extent the programme has contributed to solve the needs and problems identified in the design phase - To what extent the programme was efficiently implemented and delivered quality outputs and outcomes, against what was originally planned or subsequently officially revised. - To what extent the programme has attained development results to the targeted population, beneficiaries, participants -whether individuals, communities, institutions, etc.-, therefore improving political empowerment of women in across Egypt.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
