The European Union launched a call for proposals within the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy, and with the global objective of strengthening women’s role in Egyptian society and increasing gender equality in the country.
The specific objectives of this call are to support community-based initiatives aiming at economic and social empowerment of women; and to support community-based initiatives aiming at combating all forms of violence against women.
Eligible applicants must be non-profit, non-governmental organisation; public sector operator; or local authority.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
