INVESTMED is an EU-supported project under the ENI CBC Med program, designed to address the economic and environmental challenges faced by micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and business support organisations in the Mediterranean region.
The project aims to help MSMEs, BSO and start-ups improve their competitiveness, sustainability, internationalization and capacity to innovate, so that they contribute to creating sustainable economic growth and development.
INVESTMED supports new sustainable business opportunities benefiting young people and women in Egypt, Lebanon and Tunisia, focusing on three key sectors:
Green economy: Economic activities, infrastructure and assets in this sector that reduce carbon emissions and pollution, improve energy and resource efficiency, and prevent the loss of biodiversity and ecosystem services.
Blue economy: Sectors related to oceans, seas, lakes, rivers and coasts aimed at promoting economic growth, social inclusion and the preservation or improvement of livelihoods, while avoiding environmental degradation and ecosystems.
Creative and cultural industry: Companies engaged in the production or reproduction, promotion, distribution or marketing of goods, services and activities whose content is derived from cultural, artistic or heritage origins.
