The Euromed Feminist Initiative hast just released the following statement:
The colonial policies and practices by the Israeli State against Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in East Jerusalem who are threatened with expulsion, to be replaced by Jewish settlers, brought further escalation of violence in Palestine. This latest act of aggression against Sheikh Jarrah residents was also accompanied by brutal attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound against worshippers and protestors alike with tear gas and rubber bullets.
Israeli violence has escalated during the past week across Palestine, in Haifa, Lydd, Yaffa, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Protestors have been attacked with all sorts of weaponry, including drones, tear gas, flash bombs, rubber bullets, and live fire. At the time of writing, more than 231 civilians have been killed all over Palestine, among them 63 children and 36 women, while at least 10 civilians were killed in one day of protests across the West Bank and one at the borders with Lebanon. More than 6039 individuals were injured, and hundreds were arrested across Palestine.
The international community has yielded to US pressure in the Security Council, covering the massacres of the occupation, and the escalation of the aggression against Palestinian civilian people, including women and children. EFI states once more that peace across the Middle East can only be achieved through respecting and implementing the rights of Palestinians to self-determination, and to independent sovereign State on 67 territories with its capital (East Jerusalem) and the right of return of refugees according to the UN Resolution 194.
