From the Ateneu L’Harmonia, our illustration Exhibition Drawing 4 Equality: Challenging gender roles on both sides of the Mediterranean moves to the Facultat de Traducció i d’Interpretació de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) – Faculty of Translation and Interpreting.
The Exhibition will be in the hall of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting until Friday 14th of March.
During the week, The Arabic Language & Gender Master Students will participate to a workshop on visual art and gender stereotypes revolving around the exhibition artworks. These works are the fruit of a hard selection made during the contest which the Euro-Mediterranean Women’s Foundation organized in 2019 in order to shed light on artists working on gender-related issues.
The Foundation launched this contest together with one of its founding members - the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed) - and awarded the winners in Barcelona on the 25th of September 2019.
Illustrators and editorial cartoonists, amateurs or professionals, participated in this contest from 30 EuroMed countries, sharing with us inspiring artworks challenging the traditional definitions of masculinity and femininity to promote a more equal society and denounce structural gender discriminations.
The copyright of these artworks is exclusively owned by the artists. In case you want to use one of the images, always credit the artist and ask for his/her permission.
