Soukaina Bouraoui has been elected President of the Scientific Committee of the Francophone Network of Women Leaders in Higher Education and Research (RESUFF) in 2019.
She is the executive director of the Centre of Arab Women for Training and Research (CAWTAR), one of the founding members of the Euro-Mediterranean Women’s Foundation, since 1999. CAWTAR is a regional organization established in 1993 in Tunisia that aims to promote the status and role of women in the development of the Arab region. As the Executive Director of CAWTAR, she directs several projects that work on gender issues in the Arab world, such as the "Arab Teenage Girls program", "Women in the informal sector and Social Services", "Arab Women and Decision Making", etc. She is also a founding member of the Euro-Mediterranean University and Scientific Network on Gender and Women (RUSEMEG).
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
