Milena Kadieva wins one of the Women in Action 2019 European Awards

On December 4th, the human rights lawyer of Gender Alternatives Foundation (Bulgaria), Milena Kadieva,  won the Women of Europe Award for the category of ‘’Women in Action’’ in recognition of her extraordinary actions at grassroots level in Europe.

The awards highlight the contribution of women in promoting and advancing European issues, and aims to increase the presence and involvement of women in debates about Europe and its future.

 These Awards are handed out annually in Brussels and feature four categories:

  • Women in Power which was awarded this year to Laura Codruța Kövesi, Chief EU Public Prosecutor Elect.
  • Women in Business which was awarded this year to Eleonora Azzaoui & Vera Günther. Founders of Mimycri (a non-profit based in Berlin)
  • Women in Youth Activism, given this year to Johanna Nejedlová,Co-Founder of KONSENT (an organization for the prevention of sexual violence and harassment)
  • And the aforementioned Women in Action.
