On November 14, 2019, ‘’Voice of Eve’’ association opened ‘’Markazuhunn’’ (Their Centre), a new space for listening and mentoring for women victims of violence in the city of Regueb in the governorate of Sidi Bouzid (central Tunisia), with the support and partnership of the regional delegation of the Ministry of Women, Family, Children and the Elderly.
A press conference was organized to announce the launch of the activities of the centre and introduce its services, as well as to talk about legislation available to combat violence against women and girls and the protection of victims of violence, particularly law 58 of 2017 on the elimination of violence against women.
Numerous reports between 2011 and 2015 reveal that more than half of Tunisian women have experienced at least one form of violence, for example 78% of them have experienced psychological violence, 74% of sexual violence and 41% of physical violence.
