The Women’s Action Union in Morocco, along with nine human rights and women’s organizations, joined the regional campaign for zero tolerance for violence against women and girls. The Euromed Feminist Initiative launched this campaign, which will run for three years in seven Arab countries. The campaign aims to encourage the whole society to combat violence against women and girls and to demand the adoption of comprehensive legislation criminalizing all forms of such violence.
The campaign includes a range of awareness-raising and educational activities, the production of audiovisual materials and the organization of training sessions for institutions providing services to victims of violence against women and girls.
The campaign also aims to encourage people to talk about it and share their stories on social media using a country-specific tag (“what’s your story?”) in different dialects of Arabic (one for Algeria, one for Egypt, one for Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine, one for Morocco and one for Tunisia).
