On May 27th 2019, the Union of Feminist Action and the Academy of Education and Training of the Casablanca - Settat Region signed a partnership agreement to implement the programme ‘’school role in promoting women and girls and fighting the violence against them’’. The programme is part of the regional campaign ‘’Zero tolerance with violence against women in the Southern Mediterranean’’, a project supervised by the Union of Feminist Action in partnership with the Euro-Mediterranean Feminist Initiative, and funded by the European Union (EU).
The project will include workshops and trainings targeting both teachers and students on gender, women’s rights, gender based violence (GBV) and the different forms of discrimination against women and girls, in order to change mindsets and behaviours to fight GBV and prevent it in the first place.
This project also aspires to make the fight against violence a priority for policy and decision makers in Morocco.
More information about this agreement are available in Arabic in the attached document.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
