In celebration of the conclusion of its "New Life" project, the Care of Children of Female Prisoners Association held a conference entitled "The Beginning Not the End" to highlight the success stories of 500 female debtors who joined the labour market thanks to the vocational trainings conducted withing the framework of this project.
The conference was an opportunity to present women´s products and success stories under the "New Life" project, implemented in partnership between the debtorsand the Drosos Foundation, with the aim of empowering vulnerable female debtors or women prisoners in Al-Qanater prison and providing psychological support for them and their children. The ¨New Life¨ project also aims to reintegrate children into society through recreational and media-related activities.
Several prominent public and social figures, as well as representatives of civil society organizations such as Life Foundation for Development and Community Integration, a member of the Euro-Mediterranean Women’s Network, attended the conference.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
