On November 25 and 26, young women interns at the Palestinian Centre for Peace and Democracy (PCPD) marked the International Campaign ‘’16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence (GBV) #16DaysOfActivism through a campaign conducted in Jericho and Hebron (Palestine).
The overall goal of this campaign is to strengthen marginalized women’s civic and political participation and enhancing men and the community’s support to women’s rights and human security. The campaign also aimed at highlighting the importance of ending all forms of violence that women experience on a daily basis; advocating for the activation of local legislations in line with international conventions and laws related to women’s rights and gender equality; as well as punishing all those who perpetrate violence against women.
The campaign demanded the society in general and women in particular to stop justifying killing of women under what is called honour killing.
