This summer, Jusoor Center for Studies and Development (Jusoor) launched LEAP, a new business incubator aiming at contributing to the building of an inclusive economy in Libya. Through LEAP, Jusoor aims to create a vibrant community of like-minded entrepreneurs with shared goals and common beliefs. The community will support these aspiring entrepreneurs through the provision of trainings, open talks, facilitating the sharing of ideas and services through mentoring and a business advisory group.
LEAP will not only offer a space but it will also offer solutions to foster and enhance women’s businesses, such as a co-working space that charges affordable rates where women can work in an environment in which they feel comfortable and supported. The incubator will also offer a Drop and Pick service dedicated to female entrepreneurs to enable them to deliver their goods and services to their customers through the Incubator Centre to minimize security concerns, in addition to mentorship and training programs to help participants with business and marketing strategies.
The incubator is funded by SPARK under their regional program LEAD.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
